The HP Omen comes with 15.6-inch IPS display which is crisp and has good color accuracy. The bezels on the top and two sides are minimal but unfortunately, HP hasn’t cut down the bottom bezels. Overall, I have to say the display is gorgeous and great to look at.

In this model, you’ll get 128GB PCIe SSD and 1TB 7200 RPM HDD. You can install games and important programs in the SSD drive and store the rest of the files in the hard disk drive. The 16GB DDR4 memory and Intel’s 8th gen Core i7 processor i.e Intel Core i7-8750H can help you to do anything be it any simple task or playing games in VR, you can do almost anything without any issues at all.

You’ll be getting 128GB SSD + 1TB 5400 RPM HDD as storage options. If the 128GB SSD isn’t enough for you, you can replace HDD with another SSD as per your choice. Just like the storage, you can upgrade the 8GB DDR4 memory up to 32GB to improve the performance in multitasking.

When it comes to processor, there are multiple options to choose from. The variant which I’m talking about right now would cost you about $900 and you’ll get 7th Gen Intel core I7 processor i.e Intel Core i5-7300HQ for this price. If you can spend extra $50, then you can 8th Gen Core i7 CPU i.e Intel Core i5-8300H.

Just like the above Acer Predator 17, This Dell Inspiron 15 also doesn’t overheat most of the times which is really a good thing in my opinion.

For gaming experience, Dell has decided to offer GeForce GTX 1060 6GB graphics card on this machine which I have already said that it is a very powerful and capable of playing HD games at high settings. Jesse Witt has also mentioned that playing games in VR on this laptop is no big deal.

The laptop weighs 6.3 lbs (2.9 kg) which is comparatively lighter compared to Acer Predator and Alienware laptops from this list but still, I can’t say this is a lightweight machine. The battery can last up to 5 hours for basic usage which is decent I would say.

The Razer Blade 15 weighs only 4.6 lbs (2.1 kg) which is fairly portable in my opinion. You can easily carry this beast while traveling without any laptop bag all.

Keep in mind that this laptop doesn’t come with Nvidia G-Sync and instead it comes with Nvidia Optimus for better battery optimization. You can get between 5-6 hours of battery life which is pretty good I would say.

The final laptop on this list is the most powerful one yet it is the most expensive one too. That’s the reason I’ve placed this laptop in the end. Asus has updated this laptop in 2018 with few important changes and that has resulted in the price increase (I’ll talk about that in a minute below)

I have already talked about Asus ROG Zephyrus GX501 in one of my earlier posts and mentioned it as a powerful machine for Deep learning and I’m pretty sure that this is a good laptop for Oculus Rift or HTC Vive too.

Again, this is a 15.6-inch IPS display with a 144Hz panel which produces good colors and gives you good viewing angles. The ROG Zephyrus GX501 weighs around 5 pounds (2.3 kg) which is reasonably lightweight and portable I would say. You can’t ask more lightweight laptop with a powerful hardware like this.

In terms of storage, you are 512GB PCIe SSD and 16GB DDR4 memory for super fast performance. Talking about the performance, you’ll be getting GeForce GTX 1080 8GB discrete graphics card which is the most powerful GPU on this list and this is what caused in the price increase of this laptop.

You can play games like Overwatch@ 95 FPS, Destiny 2@ 120 FPS which gives you a slight idea of the gaming performance of this beast. You can smoothly enjoy the gaming experience in any VR headset on this laptop. The ports offered by Asus on this machine are 1 HDMI 2.0, USB 3.1 Type C, and a USB Type C with Thunderbolt 3.

When it comes to battery life, you can play games in your VR headset for around 2 hours.
